  There are not too many sportsmen you can recognise from their shoes alone, but Michael Johnson's golden spikes became one of the iconic images of the Atlanta Games.

  Thing is, if you're going to make a statement with your footwear, you really need to back it up.

  It was not just what Johnson wore on his feet that made him distinctive: his upright running style immediately marked him out from his rivals, and evoked memories of Olympic legend Jesse Owens.

  If Johnson felt the pressure, it did not show. In the 400m, he won convincingly in a race that silver medallist Roger Black happily admitted he knew he could not win.

  "I was very aware that if I tried to run Michael's run, I would just collapse," Black said. "I had to take him out of the equation."

  Yet that was just the prelude to a yet more astonishing feat three days later, when Johnson streaked to 200m gold in an almost unimaginably time of 19.32, knocking over three tenths of a second off his own world record.

We never really thought of the pair as long lost sisters before.

But now the Irish Big Brother star has got her searching for her birth certificate after she posted this hot picture of herself on holiday.

Georgia tweeted: "super hot today, chilling by the pool" alongside a Twitpic of her in a white bikini.

And she was dangerously close to a nipple slip as she smiled for the camera while leaning forward sexily in the TINY bandeau number.

But her perfect cleavage wasn't all we were focused on - as that straw hat and those sunnies made us think of another gorge brunette, Nicole Scherzinger.

The X Factor judge posed in an almost identical ensemble in Monaco back in May when she attended the Grand Prix.

The Pussycat Doll star looked super glamourous as she attended the swanky event dressed in a wide-brimmed hat and A-lister sunglasses.

But instead of a tiny two-piece bikini she paired the accessories with a chic monochrome halterneck one-piece.

Meanwhile someone's pretty happy to have Georgia Salpa on their arm on holiday.

Joe Weston tweeted: "Chillin on a Greek island with my Greek bird @georgiasalpa HOTTEST WOMAN ALIVE".

He also posted a picture of him sunbathing whilst looking at rather hot mag pictures of the Irish model.

We can't really argue with him on that one. SERIOUSLY hot.

David Beckham finds it easy taking his clothes off, he should do it more often

It may sound shallow, but if ever there was a sight to brighten our day/week/year, it'd be David Beckham with his kit off.

We're basically taking it to mean that David Beckham will be stripping off even more in future.

The fit footballer told Esquire: "It's definitely got easier over the years [taking his clothes off for photoshoots], but when I was in New York, seeing a huge poster [of himself in his underwear] on the side of a building, that was quite daunting."

He continued: "I remember driving past there, and stopping and running out and taking a picture."

The photos accompanying the interview may not show very much flesh, but David Beckham still looks blimmin' fit. Victoria Beckham is one lucky lady.

David went on to reveal how the pair keep their relationship going in amongst the four kids and hectic work schedules.

TOWIE’s Chloe Sims channels Cheryl Cole’s look

Not many of us are brave enough to wear a skin tight patterned jumpsuit, unless we're Cheryl Cole performing on stage.

Cheryl Cole wore a very similar outfit for her performance of Call My Name on the Graham Norton show back in June.

Fast forward two months, and Chloe Sims has adopted a very similar ensemble for a night out with the TOWIE cast.

Kate faced competition from all of Hollywood however; our Duchess trumped them all and was crowned the most stylish of them all.

See it's not just us who adore her — America agrees too!

We don't think the Royal knows how to get it wrong and always looks fab.

It's believed that Kate has to change up to five times a day when she attends Royal appointments and has managed to keep up with that without making one fashion fail.

Kate loves a good hat.

Without the help of the Royal dresser Kate puts all her looks together herself  - from make up to accessories.

Plus, she wears high street and designer even now she is Royalty and that gets a thumbs up from us.

But who cares about our thumbs, the list is voted not just by anyone but a whopping 2000 fashionistas who know their stuff.

Fashion industry professionals, journalists and the best-dressed Hall of Fame members all decided that our Kate had the best clobber around.

And we agree, all you need to do is look at her recent fashion statements at the Olympics to see she deserves the title.

Michelle Keegan hides from cameras after Max George split

After the furore her T shirt caused over the weekend, it seems that Michelle Keegan has decided to try to avoid any further attention.

However, today Michelle went all camera shy during a lunch trip with her Coronation Street pals.

One of the (many) reasons we love Katy Perry is because of her cheeky, playful sense of style.

Katy Perry wore this cheeky dress to promote her film. And Katy Perry's fun fashion sense was no more apparent than in her choice of dress for the latest round of promotion for her new movie, Part of Me.

Katy Perry went for a cheeky peekaboo dress, with little slashes all the way down the front. The slashes revealed glimpses of cleavage and tummy button, and were generally much more daring than anything in our wardrobe.

Katy also showed off her brand new hair as well. She's ditched the long purple-tinged locks for a chic black bob.

Katy Perry was in Brazil to promote her new movie, Part of Me. The star has jetted all over the place to appear at the premieres for the film.

Katy Perry also showed off a sleek new bob. However, she did manage to squeeze in a quick holiday where she flaunted more of her amazing body in a bikini.

But once this latest round of promotion for the film is over, Katy has promised she'll be taking a holiday.

The gorgeous singer revealed: "I swear, after this song, I'm taking a f**king vacation," Katy said.

"I have to say that I do a lot to sell my records," she said. "I do the right things… I work very hard! I like to sell out in all the best ways."

Phelps breaks Olympic medals record

Michael Phelps became the most decorated athlete in Olympic history when his gold in the 4x200 metres freestyle relay took him to 19.

The 27-year-old had equalled Larisa Latynina's record earlier on Tuesday evening with silver in the 200m butterfly.

The United States swimmer's first gold at London 2012 moved him beyond the Russian whose record had stood since 1964 to stand alone at the pinnacle with three more events to come. The 27-year-old started the evening with 14 gold, one silver and two bronze medals over three Olympic Games since 2004.

He paid tribute to his three relay team-mates after clinching the record. "I told those guys I wanted a big lead in the last leg and they gave it to me, Phelps said. "I just wanted to hold on, I just wanted to thank them for allowing me to have this moment."

Phelps has always maintained he is not interested in medal counts and will be furious with himself after Chad le Clos of South Africa beat him on the touch in the 200m butterfly. It is a measure of the expectations placed on the Baltimore swimmer that there was audible shock around the Aquatics Centre, a feeling of deflation even.

However, credit is due to Le Clos who swam a superb race to take advantage of Phelps' poor judgement, the American gliding into the wall rather than finishing on a full stroke as has been his hallmark. The South African won in one minute 52.96 seconds, 0.05secs ahead of Phelps with Japan's Takeshi Matsuda third.

China's Ye Shiwen won gold in the women's 200m individual medley. The 16-year-old sensation added the title to the gold she won in the longer medley in mind-boggling fashion earlier this week.

Controversy has swirled around the Chinese teenager since her other-worldly victory in the 400 metres individual medley which saw her swim the final length faster than the winner of the men's equivalent, Ryan Lochte. Ye came from slightly down at third at the final turn to produce a storming freestyle leg to secure victory.

When asked after the 200m race if she had used doping to improve her performance, she bluntly replied: "Absolutely not." She added: "I think this is a little bit unfair for me, however I was not affected by that. I'm not affected by the outside noise."

Allison Schmitt of the United States won in Olympic record time in the 200 metres freestyle final. Schmitt, who last month swam the event faster than anyone in textiles in history, led from start to finish and touched in a dominant one minute 53.61 seconds. France's Camille Muffat was second as the pair reversed their placings in the 400m freestyle on Sunday.

Aguero leads City to easy win

Sergio Aguero starred for Manchester City as the Barclays Premier League champions ended their Far East tour with a comfortable 3-1 victory over a Malaysia XI.

The 24-year-old Argentina international opened the scoring with a fine first-half solo effort before setting up strike-partner Carlos Tevez and then winger Adam Johnson to cement the win after the break.

It took Aguero just 17 minutes to make his mark at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur when, having earlier hit the crossbar and forced a save from goalkeeper Farizal Marlias, he opened the scoring.

The former Atletico Madrid frontman surged past three defenders before chipping a deft shot past Marlias to put the visitors ahead.

Johnson and Tevez both went close before half-time and although Norshahrul Talaha headed wide for the Malaysians in injury time, City went in at the break 1-0 to the good.

However, the game was effectively over within seven minutes of the restart when Aguero fed Tevez to make it 2-0 from a tight angle and then obliged once again to allow Johnson to add a third from 12 yards.

Manager Roberto Mancini made a series of changes as time ran down, Aguero making way for Marcos Lopes with 20 minutes remaining, and the home side claimed an 87th-minute consolation when substitute Azammuddin bin Mohd Akil reduced the deficit.

Oh Kate Middleton let us count the ways.

Honestly, we think we must spend more time drooling over Kate than we do our own boyfriends.

We must fall in love with her a little bit more every single day.

Arriving by herself (who needs a man when you look this hot?) to the reception, Kate wasn't alone for long and was spotted chatting to Stella McCartney.

The event was to celebrate the very swanky Royal Academy of the Arts.

We feel like when she goes to something as classy as this we should probably start calling her the Dutchess of Cambridge.

She certainly looks like Royalty (well, she is now) rocking an elegant up 'do and perfect make up that we bet she probably did herself.

She did, after all, do her eye make-up herself at the Royal Wedding.

Last night she lived up to her flawless reputation yet again with this amazing dove grey dress and a pair of very sparkly earrings.

We would hedge our bets those are probably worth more than our annual wage.

However, unlike lots of celebs who don't even wear the same knickers twice, K-Middy wore the same dress in LA last year.

Kate Middleton and Prince William go to the Olympics, look so loved up

We were pretty excited to see Kate and William at the Olympics Opening Ceremony on Friday night, and now we've been treated to yet more pics of the couple at Olympic events.

Kate Middleton and Prince William were at the Olympics again today, dressed in casual attire and looking seriously loved up.

So loved up in fact, that we couldn't stop saying 'awwww' as we looked through the photos.

Kate Middleton and Prince William were dressed casually for the occasion, in simple polo shirts, and attempted to keep a low profile wearing sunglasses.

Prince William and Kate Middleton looked very loved up. However, they were spotted as they waited for the event to begin, chatting, laughing and generally gazing lovingly at each other. Too cute.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were watching Zara Philips compete in the Olympics, and were joined by a host of Royals, including the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.

Could Keira Knightley and her fiance James Righton look anymore loved up if they tried?

We are not claiming to be body language experts, but in this case we think we can make a pretty good assumption.

The pair look outrageously adorable together and we just think they might be our new fave couple.

That is after TOWIE's Lydia Bright and Tom Kilbey.

James looks well chuffed to be with Keira. 

They just look amazing. We hope they have loads of really good looking babies and live happily ever after.

According to reports, the pair were introduced by their mutual celeb pal, Alexa Chung and things went from there.

It wasn't long before the couple were totally smitten and in May, James proposed.

One of his mates certainly thinks things will work out, he says: "Honestly, they're good for each other, they love being engaged".

It definitely looks that way.

We don't even want to begin to imagine what wedding dress she will pick, we just know it will be gorge.

By the way, we think we are right in saying that Keira has managed to look this fit and isn't even wearing any make up. It takes a brave woman to step out bare faced.

This dress basically is a wardrobe two fingers up to her ex Max George, who allegedly cheated on her when they were engaged.

Max reportedly has phone sex with his ex behind Michelle's back.

While we are sure Mich was upset and angry when she heard the news, now she looks like she is more than ready to move on.

While she is currently undoubtedly hotting up the singles market, we get the feeling she won't be solo for long. Not looking like that, anyway.

However, Michelle has reportedly said she is sick of relationships and wants to take advantage of the life of a single girl. So basically, have the best time ever with her mates.

And looks like she is sticking to her vow. With a huge group of friends, rather than opting for a guest list only celeb haunt, Michelle was out partying at Tiger Tiger in Manchester until the early hours.

A fellow clubber says: "Michelle didn't look like she was too bothered by what had happened."

The Corrie star seemed happy to pose for the paps when she left the club and reportedly told one she was having a great night.

TOWIE’s Gemma Collins and Chloe Sims know how to party!

TOWIE's Gemma Collins and Chloe Sims are definitely girls who agree with us when we say: what is a Saturday without a night on the tiles?

And the girls did just that last night partying at Villa in Epping and judging by these snaps, they had a wicked time!

We hate it when celebs 'party all night' and then leave looking more groomed than when they went in, so love that they girls left looking like they had a great time!

If it was us, we'd probably have our shoes in our hands singing Rihanna at the top of our lungs trying to jump on a rickshaw.

During the night, Gemma tweeted to keep us updated on what the girls were getting up to, posting a photo of a very glam looking Chloe posing like a true pro.

Gemma later tweeted a snap of both of them looking very pretty, with the message:

After the pair got home, Gem tweeted again saying how she was watching a bit of TOWIE to help her get to sleep — more specifically her boyfriend James Argent!

The TV star tweeted a picture of Arg on the screen with the message:

"Love it that watching Towie @itv2 it's on I love it xxx"

We think that tipsy code for 'I am glad TOWIE is on'.
