I’ve finally found Samsung’s Crowning Moment Of Awesome. What we have here is the product launch for the Samsung Jet, and what better way to launch ourselves headlong into the weekend than a video of Samsung executives waving their arms to control a presentation made up of floating holograms on stage

See for yourselves:

Now that is chuffing clever! Although, of course, it’s not really 3D holograms floating in empty space. 3D rendered images projected onto a big, translucent screen at the front of the stage (produced by a company called D’strict), though, are nearly as cool, and have the benefit of looking like floaty holograms while still being scientifically plausible.

I reckon this may well top even Samsung’s viral ad for the Jet… y’know, the one with the bungee-jumping elephants. I’ll say this for ‘em, they don’t have a flair for the dramatic.

Oh, and I’ll say this, as well; something else crossed my mind when I was watching that, since the 3D floating ‘holograms’ are projected onto a translucent screen… well, that’s just like the Sony Ericsson Kiki, innit? So, when the Kiki finally gets officially unveiled, is it going to be as awesome as this stage show was?

I hope so, ‘cos that’d rock.
